The Macia farm is located in the town of Calenzano near Florence, surrounded by the countryside of Travalle's park, at the bottom of the Calvana mountains.
We are surrounded by two parks, intended to safeguard the ecosystem, protect the flora and fauna of the mountains as well as the whole area that is still devoted to agriculture and undeveloped. To this aim, we worked together with Florence’s district to establish a safeguard policy for the fauna in the area including most of our farmland. The Calvana mountain is full of caves discovered and catalogued by the caving group of Calenzano. As of today, more than 100 caves have been discovered. In the old park behind the villa of Macia (Selvatico), you can see everyday deers eating grass in the clearing, pheasants running in search of food and, rarely, some hare and wild boar.
